Postpartum Doula Services

Bringing a new baby home can be overwhelming! As your postpartum doula, I will support your entire family in your home in whatever capacity is most needed. I can answer questions on newborn care, feeding your baby, help with the first bath, assist you in wearing your infant in a newborn carrier, take care of your infant while you nap or shower, prepare meals, run errands for you or with you, and perform some light housekeeping such as laundry and cleaning baby bottles.... plus so much more!

Even if you have TONS of family support, doula support is incredibly valuable.  Both you and your partner will receive evidence based education (if you want it) and non-judgmental support, which will allow you to gain confidence in your new roles!

The goal is for you to gain peace of mind and knowledge while also getting a chance to relax and have time to process the changes in your life!

What does a Doula do during Day Support?

Besides answering questions and calming your baby, I will make sure that everyone in the family has nutritious and yummy snacks and/or meals.  I can go shopping for you, or whip something up with the ingredients you already have in your home!

I will make sure that bottles and dishes are cleaned in the kitchen, run loads of laundry, take care of your baby while you nap or shower, and can even help with organizing all the extra “stuff” that comes along with a baby.

All day shifts must be at least 4 hours long.
What does a Doula do during Night Support?

I can act as the sole caretaker of your baby overnight, or I can stay in a separate room with the baby and bring your baby to you when he/she needs to nurse.  Then I will burp, diaper, soothe, etc. your baby so that you can get right back to sleep!

Some may wonder what the difference is between a "postpartum doula" and a "night nurse"... click here to read my blog post on this very topic!  I can tell you that they are different roles and each has their place.

All night shifts must be at least 8 hours long.  10 hours is recommended so that you can have some time to relax and get a good nights rest!
